About Me
I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a friend. I am a psychologist, photographer, nonprofit executive, volunteer, kayaker, blogger, and mother to Maddie and Maynerd. I am a children's book author, mentor, leader, home chef, and honorary bohemian. I am an artist, saxophonist, hiker, explorer and writer.

Yet, none of my titles or positions or lineage fully describes me. I am a complex being who loves the beauty of nature, exploring and discovery. In this way, I bet that I am much like you.
Psychologist
I became licensed as a clinical psychologist in 1995 after completing my Ph.D. at the University of Memphis. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Boston Children's Hospital/Judge Baker Children's Center and my postdoctoral fellowship at University Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. I completed postdoctoral certification in psychopharmacology in 1998 and passed the national examination for prescribing psychologists.

In my more than 22 years of clinical practice, I have worked across a range of settings, including: psychiatric inpatient, partial hospitalization and day treatment programs; community-based mental health centers; community health centers; medical hospital inpatient and family practice programs; acute and sub-acute rehabilitation programs; nursing homes; schools; and specialty programs serving unique populations (children and youth with developmental disabilities and at-risk teen girls). I have worked with a variety of clinical populations from toddlers to seniors and have treated a number of mental health conditions including: anxiety disorders, mood and depressive disorders, thought and cognitive disorders, adjustment and pain disorders, and trauma-related disorders.

About Us
Maddie and Maynerd
Maddie and Maynerd are my two adventure pups. Maddie is a spunky 8 year old Maltipoo who, pound for pound, is the smartest one in the family. She is a sweet girl who is clear about what she wants and communicates her feelings very clearly.
Maynerd is her younger brother. At two years old, he is maturing into a young man. He is a lover and an attention seeker. Everybody loves Maynerd and he likes it that way.
Together, the three of us make up our little pack.
